If you’re sending a spoiler image to someone on Discord, consider using the spoiler tag so that your recipient needs to click the image to view it and that it doesn’t open directly. This can be done on your mobile and desktop, and we will show you how.

When your recipient receives the picture, it will be blurry with a spoiler label. The image will open as normal when the tag is clicked.

Spoiler an Image in Discord for Mobile

  1. Upload an image in the message composition field.
  2. Before sending, on mobile tap the image and enable “Mark as Spoiler.” On desktop, click the eye icon.
  3. Enter any text you want sent with the image, then send it.

On your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone, use the official Discord app to send spoiler images.

To do this, you must first open the Discord app from your phone. Open the Discord app on your phone and select the chat where you wish to spoiler an image.

Tap the “+” icon (plus) in the bottom-left corner of the chat screen.

From the gallery view that opens choose the image you want to send. Do not tap the Send button yet. Instead, tap outside the image area to return to the chat screen.

Tap the attached photo to view it full-size. To open the attached photo in full size, tap the Back button.

Activate

You’re now back at the chat screen. Optionally, you can enter text to accompany your image. Next, tap the Send button and send your photo to be used as a spoiler during your chat.

To see the image, your recipient will need to tap or click the image. The image will not open if they do not tap or click on it.

Send a Photo As a Spoiler in Discord for Desktop and the Web

On your desktop computer, use either the Discord app or Discord for the web to send spoiler attachments.

To do this, you must first launch Discord from your computer. Next, access the Discord conversation where you wish to attach a spoiler picture.

On the chat screen, next to the message box, double click the “+” icon (plus).

Open the standard “open” window on your computer and navigate to the folder containing your image. Double-click the image to add it Discord.

Select a photo.

Back in the conversation window’s top-right corner click on “Spoiler Attachment”, an eye icon option.

Discord has now hidden your photo and you now see a “Spoiler” tag. Optionally, you can write your text message to send this attachment. Next, press Enter.
