Fall’s cooler weather means it’s time to get cozy at home, and there’s arguably no better spot to do that than in the kitchen. You know what we mean: Think lazy Saturday afternoons around the kitchen island, while a pot of hearty soup simmers on the stove and the aroma of baked goods fills the room.
Now, shouldn’t your kitchen decor match that mood?
Turns out, it can! In fact, as we scrolled through Instagram this week (as we always do) to ID the most popular kitchen posts, we found cozy decor in spades.
From lush wooden details to comfy seating styles, this week’s list of trending Instagram decor has something for everyone. Keep reading to find out more about the designs we can’t stop dreaming about—and how to steal the look.
1. Victorian cabinets
There’s cabinets, and then there’s these classic beauties featured by @houseoflmd. And nothing quite adds old-world charm to a kitchen like custom Victorianesque cabinetry.
“Victorian designs bring an element of royalty to a kitchen,” says Kobi Karp, principal at Kobi Karp Architecture & Interior Design. “The ornamentation adds to the aesthetics and makes the room feel elegant and full of warmth.”

2. Wooden range hood
Make your kitchen even cozier this season by adding warm organic elements, like this wooden range hood featured by @whitetailfarmhouse.
“The introduction of a wooden element into a range hood certainly catches the eye,” says Karp. “It’s a very distinct and original look that you don’t often see in kitchens, and what’s great about them is how they bring out a rustic, but very elegant look. They tend to fit in perfectly in a monochromatic kitchen.”

3. Farmhouse bench
The farmhouse trend continues to hang on for dear life, so it makes sense that Instagrammers zeroed in on this dining nook with farm-style bench, like this one from @pleasantbaydesigns.
“Bench seating is a very popular trend in kitchens right now,” says Farris Wu, founder and CEO at DecorMatters. “Almost any dining spot can be transformed into more of a lounge area by simply substituting chairs for a bench.
“Benches give the feeling of social gatherings and dinner parties,” Wu adds. “They’re also a practical and an efficient use of space, and can allow for more storage underneath.”

4. Tiled kitchen island
Want to make your kitchen island pop with something more luxurious than a coat of paint? Then you’re going to love this trending tile design from @arq_designer.
“This kind of treatment is not only visually appealing, but also easy to maintain,” says Karp. “You can experiment with different textures and finishes depending on the theme of your space.”

5. Love-seat bar stools
We’re fairly certain these love-seat-style bar stools featured by @laureywglenn are the chicest way to add more seating to your space.
“Love-seat bar stools are perfect for a lounge and dining area, and especially for those who are married and have couples over for get-togethers often,” says Wu. “They offer a romantic, comfortable, and fun seating option for two. Versatile and definitely cozy for those looking to sit back and relax on a game night or party with friends.”
