These terms do not, but might one day, govern use of the Internet forum at https://renovation.reviews. In that event, to use the forum, you must agree to these terms with Renovation Reviews, the company that runs the forum.

The company may offer other products and services, under different terms. These terms apply only to use of the forum.

Important Terms

These terms include a number of important provisions that affect your rights and responsibilities, such as the disclaimers in Disclaimers, limits on the company’s liability to you in Limits on Liability, your agreement to cover the company for damages caused by your misuse of the forum in Responsibility for Your Use, and an agreement to arbitrate disputes in Disputes.

Your Permission to Use the Forum

Subject to these terms, the company gives you permission to use the forum. Everyone needs to agree to these terms to use the forum.

Conditions for Use of the Forum

Your permission to use the forum is subject to the following conditions:

  1. You must be at least thirteen years old.
  2. You may no longer use the forum if the company contacts you directly to say that you may not.

  6. You may not use the forum to send e-mail to distribution lists, newsgroups, or group mail aliases.
  7. You may not falsely imply that you’re affiliated with or endorsed by the company.
  8. You may not hyperlink to images or other non-hypertext content on the forum on other webpages.
  9. You may not remove any marks showing proprietary ownership from materials you download from the forum.
  10. You may not show any part of the forum on other websites with <iframe>.
  11. You may not disable, avoid, or circumvent any security or access restrictions of the forum.
  12. You may not strain infrastructure of the forum with an unreasonable volume of requests, or requests designed to impose an unreasonable load on information systems underlying the forum.
  13. You may not impersonate others through the forum.
  14. You may not encourage or help anyone in violation of these terms.

Content Standards

  1. You may not submit content to the forum that is illegal, offensive, or otherwise harmful to others. This includes content that is harassing, inappropriate, abusive, or hateful conduct.
  2. You may not submit content to the forum that violates the law, infringes anyone’s intellectual property rights, violates anyone’s privacy, or breaches agreements you have with others.
  3. You may not submit content to the forum containing malicious computer code, such as computer viruses or spyware.
  4. You may not submit content to the forum as a mere placeholder, to hold a particular address, user name, or other unique identifier.
  5. You may not use the forum to disclose information that you don’t have the right to disclose, like others’ confidential or personal information.

Content Removal

  1. Company’s Right to Remove Content:
    The company reserves the right to remove or modify content submitted to the forum for any reason, including but not limited to content that:
  • Violates these Terms of Use, including Content Standards.
  • Is deemed inappropriate, offensive, or harmful.
  • Is reported by other users and determined to violate the forum’s guidelines or applicable laws.
  1. User Requests for Content Removal:
  • If you believe content you submitted or content about you should be removed, you may submit a request to local@renovation.reviews.
  • The company will evaluate such requests and take appropriate action based on these Terms of Use and applicable laws.
  1. Third-Party Takedown Requests:
  • If content you submitted violates a third party’s intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other legal rights, the company may remove the content in compliance with applicable laws.
  • The company may notify you of such actions and provide a reason for the removal.
  1. No Guarantee of Removal:
  • Submitting a request does not guarantee that content will be removed, particularly if the content complies with these Terms of Use or is protected by other legal frameworks.
  1. Backup and Cache Copies:
  • Removed content may persist temporarily in the company’s backups, caches, or other systems. Such content will be deleted as part of routine maintenance.
  1. Community Reporting:
  • Users are encouraged to report content they believe violates these Terms of Use. Reports can be submitted through the forum’s reporting tools or by contacting local@renovation.reviews.

Google Places API

  1. The forum incorporates data from the Google Places API to provide users with business information, including but not limited to names, addresses, ratings, and reviews.
  2. Attribution: All data retrieved from the Google Places API includes proper attribution to Google, as required by Google’s Terms of Service.
  3. Restrictions on Use:
  • Users may not copy, store, or redistribute data sourced from the Google Places API for any purpose outside of personal use within the forum.
  • Use of Google Places API data is governed by Google’s Terms of Service.
  1. Accuracy: Business data displayed on the forum may not always be up-to-date or accurate. Users are encouraged to verify business details independently.
  2. Compliance: By using the forum, you agree to comply with the Google Places API’s usage restrictions and these terms.

Enforcement

The company may investigate and prosecute violations of these terms to the fullest legal extent. The company may notify and cooperate with law enforcement authorities in prosecuting violations of the law and these terms.

The company reserves the right to change, redact, and delete content on the forum for any reason. If you believe someone has submitted content to the forum in violation of these terms, contact us immediately.

8. Your Account

  1. Account Creation: To access certain features, you must create an account and provide accurate, up-to-date information, including a valid email address.
  2. Account Security: You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and all actions taken under your account.
  3. Account Closure: You may close your account at any time by contacting local@renovation.reviews. OR by following the deletion process inside your accounts setting page.
  4. Account Restriction: The company reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these terms.

9. Your Content

  1. Ownership: You retain ownership of the content you submit but grant the company a license to use it for forum operation.
  2. License: By submitting content, you allow the company to copy, display, and analyze your content.
  3. Content Removal: Licenses for removed content expire when no copies remain in backups. Third-party licenses, such as Creative Commons, may continue.

10. Your Responsibility

You agree to indemnify the company against claims arising from your violation of these terms or misuse of the forum. The company will notify you of claims promptly and work with you to resolve disputes.

11. Disclaimers

The forum is provided “as is” without warranties. The company is not liable for issues arising from third-party integrations or services.

12. Limits on Liability

  1. The company’s total liability is limited to $50.
  2. The company is not responsible for damages that could not have been reasonably foreseen.

13. Feedback

Feedback is welcome, but you grant the company permission to use suggestions without obligation.

14. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. Upon termination, your permission to use the forum ends.

15. Disputes

Disputes are governed by Canadian law and resolved in courts located in Toronto, Ontario, or through binding arbitration as specified in these terms.

16. General Terms

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain valid. These terms replace any previous agreements regarding the forum.
