MS Dhoni has finally answered all speculations on whether he is ready to retire after IPL 2023 or not. During a post-match press conference on Tuesday, MS Dhoni was asked about Chennai Super Kings’ final match of the season against Gujarat Titans at Ahmedabad on Sunday. In response, Dhoni stated that he would take it one season at a time and that he will continue playing until he feels like it. This statement quelled all the speculation surrounding Dhoni’s retirement plans.

CSK made it to the finals after defeating Gujarat Titans by 15 runs on a sticky surface. Despite the tough conditions, CSK were able to put up a competitive total of 157/20, thanks to the masterful tactics of captain MS Dhoni, who was able to make the most of the home advantage. This marks their 10th final in 14 editions, reflecting their remarkable consistency in the tournament.

Ever since Dhoni became the new captain of CSK in 2008, he has been a symbol of the team’s success and popularity. His leadership has seen the team become the most successful franchise amongst all eight teams in the IPL. He was also the first captain to guide his team to three consecutive IPL finals (2008-2010), and has lifted the trophy for the franchise a record four times.

There is no doubt that Dhoni has achieved greatness in every aspect of the game, but his legacy goes further than the field. His calm and composed demeanour have been an example for many youngsters who have looked up to him as a mentor and role model. Whatever be the result of Sunday’s final, Dhoni’s place in the heart of millions of cricket fans across the world is guaranteed.

Overall, MS Dhoni has been a consistent source of hope and inspiration to millions of people around the world and it would be a great loss for cricket if he chooses to retire. He has given us so much over the last 14 years and it is certain that we will be seeing more from the man from Jharkhand in the IPL.
